SUMMARY:International Day of Peace - Come Celebrate with Us!
DESCRIPTION:   “When you build a house\, you start with one brick. If we want to build peace\, we should start with one day. That has arrived.” – Jeremy Gilley\, Dallas Morning News\nThis year\, our Junior Branch will be planning the activities for our annual Peace One Day celebration! The activities may be a surprise\, but they are sure to be fun for all – this is a family affair and all kids and adults are invited to stay and participate! \nPeace One Day is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1999 by Jeremy Gilley. In 2001 due to the efforts of this organization\, the member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace One Day. \nBV CISV – as well as many other national and international chapters of CISV – finds its own way of celebrating Peace One Day each year. In the past\, we have hosted informal sports events and picnics and have invited others from outside the CISV community. \nWe encourage everyone to invite a friend or two to enjoy the day with us. Those JB’ers who bring a friend will receive a CISV lanyard! as a special gift. \nIn addition to activities\, we will have a potluck dinner to enjoy. Please bring a dish (appetizer\, entree\, or dessert) to share. \nIn the event of rain\, we’ll send an email to registered attendees by 2:30 Saturday letting you know the event is canceled. \nIf you haven’t already RSVPed via the Evite\, please do so above and include what you might like to share with friends.  \nFor more information on Peace One Day\, click here.

SUMMARY:Concert for Peace
DESCRIPTION:Tired of the cold? In to good music. \nBV CISV is happy to announce our first Concert for Peace (and it’s a fun fundraiser to boot)! \nJBers and adults are invited to attend and be entertained by Paul Colombo\, a musician based outside of Philadelphia. Paul is a versatile guitarist\, composer and vocalist who has performed and recorded with Grammy winners such as Neil Sedaka\, Peter Nero and The Delfonics\, and American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. \nFor BV CISV\, Paul will play a variety of musical genres\, including jazz\, folk and a lot of rock on his acoustic and electric guitars. We are also excited to announce that Paul will be playing a set of songs from the CISV playlist! so come on out and sing-a-long to your favorite CISV lullabies.  \nThis is a BV event for adults\, JBers and guests. Hosts Mark and Debbie Shryock will be providing some light snacks and soft drinks\, but please feel free to bring your own as well. \nSpace is limited so you must register above to secure your seat! Due to the limited seating\, we respectfully ask that you name each person in your party when registering. Unfortunately\, we can’t allow walk-ins (non-registered attendees) due to space constraints. Thank you for understanding.  \nContributions accepted. \n(Please let us know if you can’t make it at least 48 hours in advance so we can open up for more\, if needed. Thank you!) \nPaul has been touted for his “virtuoso guitar playing” and “well-traveled artistry.” To learn more about Paul and hear some of his music\, click here.

SUMMARY:Regional Mini Camp 2019
DESCRIPTION:MARMC is coming\, so put your name on the waiting list here. \nChaperones\, sign up here.\nYou might be asking yourself\, “what is MARMC?” \nWhy\, it is the new Mid-Atlantic Regional Mini Camp\, our first ever! due to the new region change! \nIt is also one of the coolest events of the year! It is a weekend full of activities\, similar to our Chapter Mini Camp\, but with participants from Philadelphia\, Brandywine Valley\, Pittsburgh and Washington D.C.. \nBrandywine Valley has been allotted more slots; we will take JBers as they signed up.  \nIf you don’t need to know anything else\, sign up now. \nRMC this year is being co-hosted by both Brandywine Valley and Philadelphia at Refreshing Mountain Camp (and yes\, it is a funny coincidence that we will be having RMC at RMC). Everyone will be arriving to the campsite on Friday\, March 15th at 7:00pm and departing on Sunday\, March 17th at 10:30 am. \nThe Details:\nWhere: Hosted by Brandywine Valley and Philadelphia Chapters at Refreshing Mountain Camp\, 455 Camp Road\, Stevens\, PA  17578. \nWhen: 7:00 PM Friday\, March 15th to 10:30 AM Sunday March 17th. \nWhy: Meet new people! Expand your horizons! \nWho: You!! Anyone 10 years or older can attend\, and anyone over 21 can be a chaperone. Sign up fast because there are a limited number of spaces! \nCamp Theme: Dino-Mite. Download the pre-camp here. \nHow: Sign up now to register. \nIMPORTANT: Each chapter in the region gets 18 spots for JB (and possibly more). If you plan to come to RMC\, please make sure you register. When the first 18 spots are filled\, we will have a waiting list\, and if you sign up for that\, we will be in touch when additional spots open up. \nCost:  $130 \nIn addition\, each chapter must send one chaperone for every six JB. \n1-6 JB = 1 chaperone\n7-12 JB = 2 chaperones\n13-18 JB = 3 chaperones \nOnce we have a headcount for each chapter\, we’ll send the registration/payment link to those who have signed up. If you’re on the waiting list\, we’ll contact you asap to let you know if we have a spot for you. (JB will be taken from the waiting list in the order in which they are signed up.) \n   \nQuestions: Contact Liddy Grossman\, ghliddy@gmail.com. \nRMC is planned by the LJRs (Local Junior Representatives) of each chapter in the Mid-Atlantic region. Liddy is part of the team creating these awesome activities\, so we should all go to support her and the other LJRs’ efforts! This camp’s theme is “Dino-Mite.”  If you want to learn more about the camp\, attached is the Pre-Camp!
