CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world.
This year, our Junior Branch will be planning the activities for our annual Peace One Day celebration! The activities may be a surprise, but they are sure to be fun for all – this is a family affair and all kids and adults are invited to stay and participate!
Peace One Day is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1999 by Jeremy Gilley. In 2001 due to the efforts of this organization, the member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace One Day.
BV CISV – as well as many other national and international chapters of CISV – finds its own way of celebrating Peace One Day each year. In the past, we have hosted informal sports events and picnics and have invited others from outside the CISV community.
We encourage everyone to invite a friend or two to enjoy the day with us. Those JB’ers who bring a friend will receive a CISV lanyard! as a special gift.
In addition to activities, we will have a potluck dinner to enjoy. Please bring a dish (appetizer, entree, or dessert) to share.
In the event of rain, we’ll send an email to registered attendees by 2:30 Saturday letting you know the event is canceled.
If you haven’t already RSVPed via the Evite, please do so above and include what you might like to share with friends.
