On September 22nd, the BV chapter celebrated World Peace Day by holding a potluck party at the Goose Creek Park pavilion in West Chester. Nearly 50 people came out on the beautiful fall day to enjoy each other’s company, do fun energizers, and eat delicious food. A special shout out to Wesley, Hamida, Hanya, and Sydney who all brought friends to help us celebrate!
The JB ran a scavenger hunt throughout the park, where the kids searched for hidden scraps of paper that, when pieced together, formed at peace sign. Of course we also did energizers (what’s a CISV activity without great energizers!) and other fun activities. Afterwards was the potluck where there were so many different foods including pita with dips, potato salad, tomato pie, brownies, and mac and cheese. Later in the day the kids played many different games on the lawn like Cornhole or CanJam. Finally, when people were leaving, there were many heartfelt goodbyes after another great CISV celebration!
